The Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office is declining to prosecute a man for homicide who says he was defending himself during the bloody clash with his friend inside a Crown Heights apartment , a high-ranking police official said Tuesday.
The 58-year-old man claimed he was defending himself when a 56-year-old man bum-rushed his way into an apartment and started punching him on Monday inside a three-story residential building on Troy Ave. near Park Place , law enforcement sources said.
The suspect fatally stabbed the victim with a kitchen knife. The suspect, with his hands covered in blood, then rushed to the 77th Precinct stationhouse around 3:15 a.m., where he told police he believed he had just killed his friend inside an apartment.
The suspect, who has 16 arrests on his record,
