DICKSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — One group working to preserve the environment is the Dickson Bee Club.
From dawn to dusk, the honey bees at the Bibb-White Bluff Civic Center are hard at work. Alongside them are members of the Dickson Bee Club, who ensure their thriving environment.
With gloves on, Dickson Bee Club President Jane Englebright pulled open the hive to reveal rows of golden comb. At this time, the thousands of bees are stocking up for winter.
"[They are busy] collecting pollen and nectar from our fall flowers and storing it up in the form of honey and pollen and bee bread, as we call it," Englebright said.
With only a few weeks until winter hits, the bees stay organized through their roles.
