TOPEKA, Kan. —

The Kansas Republican Party has condemned racist and antisemitic messages revealed in a Politico article into a private Telegram chat among Young Republican leaders across several states.

Politico reported Tuesday that leaders from Kansas, New York, Arizona and Vermont exchanged racist, homophobic and violent messages. Advertisement

The texts included jokes about gas chambers, slavery and rape among thousands of messages.

Some Kansas members were named in the report.

In a statement Tuesday, Kansas GOP Chair Danedri Herbert said party leadership is “disgusted by the comments by young Kansas Republicans mentioned in the Politico story.”
