CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Illinois Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski made a stop at the University of Illinois Tuesday to discuss canceled projects around campus.
The representative spoke with University leaders about funding cuts to projects already underway.
Federal cuts to projects at the U of I briefly forced the closure of the University's Soybean Lab, along with a pause to other research.
" The steps that [this administration is] taking to eliminate these kinds of research opportunities to the detriment of public health in retaliation for what is happening regarding this government shutdown. It's just absolutely not right," Budzinski said.
