A big rig slammed into a center divider, clipping two vehicles and injuring one of the drivers, on Interstate 15 during downpours just south of Riverside Tuesday, blocking two lanes and snarling traffic on the busy corridor.

The crash was reported at 12:30 p.m. on northbound I-15, south of Magnolia Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The agency said the semi went out of control on the rain-washed lanes and veered into the center divider, swiping a pickup and a sedan, causing significant damage to the truck, which was not carrying cargo.

CHP officers shut down two lanes, leaving three open.

Traffic was slow through the area, but no SigAlert was issued after the crash.
