CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - The Halloween Hoopla is happening soon in Cape Girardeau.

It is set for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 24 at the Shawnee Park Center.

Organizers say there will be trick-or-treat bags with candy and toys, Halloween bingo, pumpkin decorating and pumpkin bowling.

A costume contest begins at 7:30 p.m., with prizes for best, funniest and creepiest outfits.

Children can dress up by themselves or come in group costumes with siblings and friends.

The cost is $5 per child at the door. The event is for ages 12 and younger.

Christine Jaegers with Cape Parks and Recreation said she has been helping put on the event for more than a decade.

“People love it because it’s indoors, it’s safe,” Jaegers said. “There’s always something fun for everyone to do.”
