After weeks of debate, the Clark County Council on Tuesday presented a resolution condemning political violence and the assassination of Charlie Kirk to a representative of Turning Point USA, the organization Kirk founded in 2012.

Councilors discussed drafts of the resolution during two meetings in September. Councilor Michelle Belkot proposed the resolution. She called Kirk’s assassination and all political violence horrific.

When discussing the resolution Sept. 17, Councilor Wil Fuentes thanked Belkot for bringing the resolution forward and asked if she would be open to changes to make it more inclusive.
