A national construction firm is opening an office in Merrillville.

Chicago-based F.H. Paschen signed a long-term lease to occupy 5,000 square feet of space 707 E. 80th Place, according to Crown Point-based Latitude Commercial. It's looking to expand its regional presence by opening a satellite office amid the cluster of offices around U.S 30 and Interstate 65.

The construction firm partnered with Ragnar Benson to build the South Shore Line's West Lake Corridor expansion between Hammond and Munster.

The late Frank H. “Bud” Paschen founded F.H. Paschen more than 40 years ago. The company specializes infrastructure construction and rehabilitation, as well as renovation and repair work. It does design-build construction and well as construction management.
