A teen girl is fighting for her life after she was critically injured in a shooting inside a North Philadelphia home that may have been accidental, police said.
Police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, inside a home on the 2400 block of North Colorado Street. When police arrived, they found a semiconscious 16-year-old girl inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The teen was taken to the hospital where she is undergoing surgery. Police said she is currently in critical condition. The girl doesn’t live at the home where she was shot but often visits family and friends at the property, according to investigators.
