FARGO — Neighbors in Fargo now have safer stairs after Lowe’s and a local nonprofit partnered to fix them.
Rebuilding Together and Lowe’s have collaborated on home projects in the community for more than a decade. On Monday, nine employees from Lowe’s locations in Fargo and Grand Forks volunteered at three homes.
Rebuilding Together partners with local volunteers and contractors to complete home repairs for people with disabilities, the elderly, veterans and low-income families. The local Lowe’s stores provided $2,500 in funding through its Hometown Heroes campaign to support the work.
“The staircase was rotted. It just wasn’t safe in any capacity. The other ones as well, just not very sturdy, just something that’s going to help them be safe and secure in their homes,” said Brianne Wilk
