Citing her long record of taking on city government in matters pertaining to the First Amendment and the state’s Right-to-Know Law, the New England First Amendment Coalition (NEFAC) has named longtime Nashua resident Laurie Ortolano the recipient of its 2025 Antonia Orfield Citizenship Award.
“To have an organization like NEFAC recognize me for my work made me very happy,” Ortolano said. “My work has been very challenging … it’s nice to be honored. I’ve certainly learned a lot about the court system.”
The award will be presented at a private event later this month in Boston, according to NEFAC, which didn’t indicate why the event is private. The award is given annually to a New England resident “who has fought for information essential to the public’s understanding of what its government
