Fans of the musical Les Misérables can look forward to a return of Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Alain Boubill and Claude-Michel Schönberg’s Tony Award-winning musical to Vancouver.
Based on the celebrated 1862 novel by French author Victor Hugo, Les Misérables is considered to be one of the great novels of the 19th century. The story built around the period running from 1815 to the 1832 June Rebellion is set in Paris and follows the lives of several characters from across French society.
Of particular focus is the tale of former convict Jean Valjean, who struggles with his past and redeeming himself in the future.
