The Indianapolis Colts are signing veteran quarterback Brett Rypien to their practice squad, according to multiple reports on Tuesday.
The move comes one day after backup quarterback Anthony Richardson (orbital fracture) was placed on injured reserve.
According to multiple reports, the Colts worked out four other quarterbacks on Tuesday: Jeff Driskel, Jaren Hall, Tanner Mordecai and Kyle Trask.
Rypien, 29, has been released by the Minnesota Vikings and Cincinnati Bengals over the past two months. He appeared in one game for Cincinnati — taking three snaps on Sept. 21 against the Vikings — before being let go on Oct. 7.
He has made four NFL starts and played in 11 games for the Denver Broncos (2020-22), Los Angeles Rams (2023) and Bengals (2025). He has thrown for 950 yards and four tou
