Coles has confirmed a major change to their Click & Collect grocery delivery.

The service, which first launched in 2011, allows customers to order their groceries online and have them delivered to their car at a designated store.

But the recent change means customers can no longer notify stores of their arrival using a displayed phone number. In fact, the phone numbers have been removed from Click & Collect signage at all locations.

Instead, shoppers are being directed to the supermarket's app to flag their arrival.

A Coles spokesperson tells nine.com.au: "We encourage Coles Click & Collect customers to tap 'I've arrived' in the Coles App when they reach the store to help ensure a faster and smoother collection experience.
