NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Metro leaders and Germantown residents are demanding immediate safety improvements after another pedestrian was hit and critically injured in a crash over the weekend.

The crash at the intersection of Jefferson Street and 4th Avenue North sent a man to the hospital with serious injuries around 11:30 Saturday night. Metro Police said he was hit by two cars that were street racing through the busy area.

Travis Andry was caught on camera striking the pedestrian, throwing him into the air, onto their windshield, and then landing on the street unconscious, according to police. Andry first left the scene, but returned a few minutes later and was arrested on multiple charges.
