ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - An Atlanta man was sentenced to life in prison for molesting and sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl, according to prosecutors.

Mario Edwin Adon-Barrios, 37, was convicted on charges of aggravated child molestation, child molestation and sexual battery for assaulting the child in June 2023, the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.

Adon-Barrios was sentenced to life in prison, plus 10 years. He must also register for life as a sex offender and stay away from the victim and her family.

Adon-Barrios will be deported at the end of his prison sentence, according to the DA’s office.
