BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — It’s been a rough start to the season for Southern University football. The Jags sit at 1-5, their worst start in 54 years. All five of their losses have been by a minimum of 17 points.
Through six games, Southern has been outscored by 140 points, a stunning stat for a program that won the SWAC West a year ago.
When Head Coach Terrence Graves was asked what message he had for Southern fans searching for answers, Graves encouraged patience and perspective.
“Keep the faith.” Graves said. “These guys are playing hard and trying hard. They’re frustrated too. They have to deal with the noise, but they’re practicing hard, focused, and giving great effort.”
