ELLSWORTH -- Seven in the running for three open seats and no incumbents makes for an interesting city council election season in Ellsworth . These seven hopefuls addressed voters at the Grand Theatre on Tuesday , where they introduced themselves and their visions for Ellsworth .

"Tonight is about civic connection, hearing directly from the individuals who help us shape the future of our community, and coming together in the spirit of participation and respect," said Cara Romano, Executive Director for Heart of Ellsworth.

The event offered a chance for both moderators and members of the public to ask questions of those candidates. The majority of candidates are building their platforms on property taxes, hoping to lower them if elected.
