Adin Hill‘s night appears to be over.
The Vegas Golden Knights starting goalie didn’t begin the second period of the team’s road tilt against the Calgary Flames on Tuesday.
While it’s unclear what caused the exit, Hill took a shot off his mask during the opening frame that knocked off the helmet, and then stopped another with his chest before the play was blown dead.
The 29-year-old looked shaken up momentarily but stayed in the game for the remainder of the period, having stopped eight of the 10 shots he faced at that point.
Backup netminder Akira Schmid stepped in for Hill for the start of the middle frame.
Hill entered the night with a 3.24 GAA and .854 save percentage through his two appearances — a shootout loss followed by an overtime defeat.
