A South Surrey woman who expanded her business into the U.S. more than a decade ago says she is “responding to the border tariff conflict in an enterprising way” – bringing her collections home to Canada.

Suzanne Smith said as of Oct. 1, she has set up a Betty Be Good pop-up shop at West Coast Gardens; the result of partnership conversations that began “long before the tariff war.”

The new concept “now more than ever… feels right,” Smith told Peace Arch News by email.

Smith first launched her business as an online and pop-up shop in 2012, operating in South Surrey.

The following year, she opened a bricks-and-mortar store in Blaine; a move she noted was not financially possible for her in South Surrey, given the real-estate market.
