The Algonquin Barons overcame a mountain of penalty flags and a slow start to dump the Saint Joseph Scollard Hall Bears 27-7 in the final game of the NDA (Nipissing District Athletics) regular season. The game was played on a great night for football at Cundari Field.

The Barons lost their first game of the year and then got quarterback Dayne Meyer back from a concussion and haven’t lost since. Algonquin finishes the year 3-1 and clinch first over West Ferris via tiebreaker. The Bears went 0-4.

Tuesday night featured plenty of flags in the first half and just one point. Algonquin scored that point but they did have a punt return for a touchdown called by due to a penalty.
