CINCINNATI —

A forward expected to play a major role for the Cincinnati Bearcats men’s basketball team this season has been ruled out indefinitely.

Head coach Wes Miller announced Tuesday that Jalen Haynes will be out with a lower body injury. There has been no timeline announced for his return to the court. Advertisement

Entering his senior season, Haynes played at three different schools during his first three collegiate seasons, averaging 12.7 points and six rebounds per game.

The 6-foot-9 Haynes played sparingly in his freshman season at Virginia Tech but was very productive in his last two seasons at East Tennessee State and George Mason.

Haynes was the leading scorer (14.1 points per game) for a George Mason team that won 27 games last season and played in the NIT Tournament.
