TWIN FALLS, Idaho (ABC4) — An Idaho State Police K-9 is retiring from duty after eight years of service and record drug seizure numbers.
According to Idaho State Police, Kali joined Idaho State Police in September 2017, and in her time in active service, she was deployed 618 times and assisted in arresting 186 people in the Twin Falls region. Her work also resulted in record numbers of drug seizure, including nearly 400 pounds of marijuana.
She worked with two handlers, Trooper Marrott and Trooper Howard. Kali will live out her retirement as a family pet with Trooper Marrott, who was her original handler.
Over the course of her career, Kali helped in the seizure of 398.5 pounds of marijuana, 3.8 pounds of heroin, 5.1 pounds of cocaine, 34.8 pounds of methamphetamine, and 10.9 pounds of
