EUGENE — Oregon’s defense has steadily increased its level of havoc during Dan Lanning’s tenure, but the front seven has been less productive through the first half of this season.
The No. 8 Ducks are causing havoc — the percentage of plays in which the defense records a tackle for loss, forces a fumble, interception or breaks up a pass — on 15.5% of plays this season with 7.5% coming from the front seven, according to collegefootballdata.com. That’s down from 19.3% overall with 11.5% from the front seven last season, when Oregon had three NFL draft picks on its defensive line and a drafted inside linebacker.
