DE PERE, Wis. (WFRV) - Local conservatives held several events on Tuesday evening to honor Charlie Kirk on his national remembrance day.

One of those events was at AmeriLux in De Pere. For Dixon Wolfe, he said being part of the event was extra special because he was friends with Kirk.

"He made me feel like I mattered like the job that I did on the day to day matters," said Wolfe who is the Midwest director of Turning Point Action. "Tonight is a night to celebrate his life and remember him for the courage that he had to stand up for what's right."

Kirk was a popular conservative activist and the founder of 'Turning Point USA.' Many conservatives credit his ability to mobilize voters, especially young voters, as one of the key reasons why Donald Trump was able to win the presidential elec
