The City of Sacramento is considering expanding its downtown entertainment zones, which allow people to drink alcohol on public streets and sidewalks. Existing zones include 20th and K streets, the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center area, and Ali Youssefi Square. Proposed new zones could open near 17th and R streets and around 18th, 19th, Capitol, and L streets. Sacramento City Council discussed the plan at its latest meeting and will vote on the proposal October 21.
