US retail giant Costco is set to open its third store in Western Australia as a part of a new $33 million retail precinct.

The state government announced today the warehouse giant would be the anchor tenant at the new Alkimos Central's Home X Trade Hub in Perth's northern suburbs.

The US retailer will be a part of a new homemakers centres which will primarily include other bulky goods retail outlets.

Stage one of the 24-hectare retail development is expected to open in 2027.

Costco opened its first warehouse in Western Australia at Perth Airport in 2020 followed by a second warehouse at Casuarina in Perth's south in 2022.

WA planning and lands minister John Carey said the state government expected Costco to draw a significant amount of customers to the area.
