Former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has emphasised the life-saving potential of early prostate cancer detection. Highlighting the importance of targeted screening, he said men at high risk, particularly Black men and those with a family history of the disease, could benefit significantly from proactive checks. Prostate Cancer Research, of which Sunak is a patron, recommends a screening programme for men aged 45–69 using MRI scans, PSA blood tests, and biopsies. In an interview with the BBC, Sunak stressed that early diagnosis allows for effective treatment and could prevent unnecessary deaths, urging men not to delay seeking medical advice.
