(Reuters) -Spain's European Union-harmonised 12-month inflation rate stood at 3% in September, up from 2.7% in the period through August, final data released by the National Statistics Institute (INE) showed on Wednesday.

The INE's final data was in line with the forecast in both the flash reading released two weeks ago and the average estimate from analysts polled by Reuters.

Core inflation, which strips out volatile fresh food and energy prices, stood at 2.4% in the 12-months through September, unchanged from the period through August, the INE said.

Spanish national consumer prices rose 3% in the 12 months through September, up from a 2.7% increase in the period through August. The data was slightly above the rate initially measured by the INE two weeks ago, at 2.9%.
