On Wednesday at 1:14 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a frost advisory valid for Thursday between midnight and 9 a.m. for Westmoreland Ridges, Fayette Ridges and Higher Elevations of Indiana as well as Mercer, Venango, Forest, Lawrence, Butler, Clarion, Jefferson, Beaver, Allegheny, Armstrong, Washington, Greene, Westmoreland, Fayette and Indiana counties.
The weather service says to expect, "Temperatures as low as 32 degrees will result in frost formation."
"Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered," states the weather service. "Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold."
