Students at Conestoga College have started a petition calling for a partial tuition refund due to ongoing disruptions stemming from the provincewide college support staff strike.

The petition — which began as a Google document on Conestoga’s Doon campus — has expanded across Ontario, with over 1,000 signatures from students at Humber Polytechnic, Georgian College and a growing list of others.

“There is a lot of tension on campus, and just getting to class right now is a battle. I had to wait half an hour just to get into the parking lot today,” said Alexis-Meilin Arch, the Conestoga student who started the petition. “The teachers and the students are feeling it in the classroom, it’s just not a great environment in general.”
