Professor Green has admitted he "very nearly" called off his wedding to Millie Mackintosh.

Appearing on Jamie Laing's Great Company podcast, the rapper explained he had felt under "pressure" to go ahead with the high-profile nuptials. The pair remained married for three years before splitting in 2016.

Green recalled: "If there wasn't that pressure, we may have never got married. It very nearly didn't happen."

The 41-year-old music star went on to detail a conversation he had shortly before the wedding. As he questioned whether the marriage was right for him, he felt torn between his feelings for the former Made in Chelsea star and his own best interests.

Green continued: "I remember having a conversation with my two best mates, Lewis and Phoenix. 'Am I getting cold feet? What's going on here?' And one of them said yes. One of them said no. I won't put him in it, because it's not their responsibility."

He added: "I made my own decision. We made our decision, and we didn't get married for the wrong reasons. We loved each other."

Mackintosh is now happily married to her former Made in Chelsea co-star Hugo Taylor, and the couple share two daughters, while Green has a four-year-old son with actress Karima McAdams.

Although Green has been critical of his ex-wife in the past, the pair are now back in contact and have discussed the impact of them both having ADHD - which was diagnosed years after their split.

"There was undiagnosed neurodivergence between both of us," he explained. "We had a conversation about this recently, and it makes sense."

The star added: "I don't want to sit here and speak ill of her at all. There isn't any resentment. She is gorgeous."
