MARION COUNTY, Fla. — A Florida teen who shot himself in the leg and "completely made up" that he was missing last month has been arrested on multiple charges.

An Amber Alert was issued for 17-year-old Caden Speight on Sept. 25 based on reports that the 6-foot-tall teen had been abducted by four men in a van after a shooting on .

Investigators later determined that these details, which Speight texted to his family, were "completely made up," Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods previously said.

On Tuesday, the sheriff's office released new details in the investigation . Deputies say on that day, they found the truck that Speight had been driving at the Dunnellon location, but he was nowhere to be found.
