President Donald Trump said that the United States could step in to disarm Hamas — “quickly and perhaps violently” — if the organization did not do so itself, a potential vulnerability in a U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement that has tentatively brought an end to two years of war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, the Washington Post reports.

Said Trump: “They will disarm or we will disarm them. Got it?”
