Popular rice brand recalled because it may contain ‘naturally occurring stones’

Some varieties of a popular brand of rice have been recalled because the boxes may include stones “from the rice farm.”

Ben’s Original recalled certain batches of Ben’s Original Long Grain White, Whole Grain Brown and Long Grain & Wild Ready Rice, because of “the possible presence of small, naturally occurring stones originating from the rice farm,” according to an announcement with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Retailers where the batches were sold include HEB, Target, United Markets, Amazon and Piggly Wiggly but the company noted that affected retailers might include others not listed, as products were distributed by Associated Grocers, C&S, and Dot Foods between August and September.
