NL Young Farmers is holding its annual leadership summit in Clarenville this weekend.

The group, which represents farmers age 18 to 40, says about 65 delegates are expected to attend the event.

Coordinator Lisa Davis says the theme is sustainability, which is important – especially considering the effects of COVID, fires, and droughts over the last few years.

The event will cover topics such as sustainable agriculture, reducing food waste, and Ukrainian farmers in the province, and will also include tours of farms in the Clarenville area.

The summit is taking place on Friday and Saturday at the Clarenville Inn.
