Those in receipt of Universal Credit payments will see their income increase from next April after a series of reforms to the benefit were given the green light.
The changes will affect tens of thousands of sick and disabled people who currently claim the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) benefit.
The Universal Credit Act , which was given royal assent last month, will see the basic standard allowance rise at least in line with inflation until 2029/30.
It will also see changes to the Limited Capability for Work and Work-Related Activity (LCWRA) element and Limited Capability for Work (LCW) rates from April 2026.
