ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Investigations are underway after a pedestrian was hit and killed in north St. Louis County on Tuesday.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department, officers went to the 9800 block of Halls Ferry Road near Sun Valley Drive just before 7:55 p.m. Tuesday after a call for a crash. At the scene, they found a man who had been hit by “at least one” car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say their preliminary investigation shows that the man was walking in the roadway when he was hit.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.

The St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and Accident Reconstruction detectives are leading this active investigation.
