New Delhi : In the latest round of clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan along the border, at least eight Pakistani soldiers and 12 Afghan civilians were killed near the Mahmoodzai post in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
This is the most serious escalation between the two neighbours since the Taliban returned to power in 2021. Officials said the violence began after Pakistan launched airstrikes last week on what it described as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) camps inside Afghan territory — a move Kabul has condemned as an act of aggression.
