Ottawa police are investigating after the early morning shooting on Somerset Street West.

The Ottawa Police Service is investigating after a man was found with gunshot wounds at a rooming house in Centretown early Wednesday morning. Article content

The incident happened at a residence on Somerset Street West just west of Bay Street at about 1:34 a.m. The man was stabilized by paramedics before being taken to hospital in critical condition, Ottawa Paramedic Service public information officer Marc-Antoine Deschamps said. The residence was taped off on Wednesday morning, and several police officers could be seen coming in and out.

A police officer at the scene did not provide information about the incident when asked.
