OLMSTED TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- After years of residents experiencing delays in fall leaf pick-up, Olmsted Township is making a change with a recent $313,000 purchase of two tow-behind Macqueen Spartan Leaf Pro Plus vacuums.
“Olmsted Township has historically provided residents with fall leaf pickup by contracting with third-party vendors, but we made the decision to bring the service in-house for the first time,” Olmsted Township Trustee Riley A. Alton said.
“By managing the program directly, our service department will be able to improve efficiency and increase responsiveness to residents, while lowering our long-term costs.”
While the change was planned last year, the township didn’t receive the new vacuums until the summer.
