WILLISTON, N.D. –Williston Water World and the Williston Community Builders have earned the Economic Development Association of North Dakota’s 2025 Community Development Award. The annual award is given for a development project that increases the quality of life or otherwise brings about positive impacts in a community.

Williston Water World opened in July 2025, the culmination of a $15.7 million project that began in 2020 by Williston Community Builders. The Community Builders’ Pool Action Community raised the majority of the funds through independent donations and fundraisers such as the annual Festival of Trees, along with grant funding and other events.
