WASHINGTON — Bojangles is on track for a major expansion, announcing plans to open 18 new locations across eight states before the end of 2025.

The Southern fast food chain , known for its fried chicken, biscuits and sweet tea, is headed to several major markets, including New York, New Jersey, Nevada, Ohio and California.

Six of the 18 remaining openings this year are in brand new markets for the company. The upcoming New York City restaurant, located in Brooklyn, marks the return of Bojangles in the big Apple for the first time since the 1980s.
