Alan Mahon ‘fine’ with stepping up as Carla Ward deals with family emergency

Ireland face Nations Play-off dates with Belgium later this month

Carla Ward was forced to miss Ireland’s squad announcement due to a family emergency today – but assistant head coach Alan Mahon is hopeful that she can link up with that squad in Dublin next Monday ahead of Nations League ply-off dates with Belgium.

However, the former international midfielder will have no problem stepping up if required.
