The Indian Railways has temporarily suspended the sale of platform tickets at 15 major stations, including those in Delhi and Mumbai. The move has been taken to ensure smooth passenger movement and safe boarding and deboarding at busy stations amid Diwali and Chhath Puja.

The platform tickets will be unavailable until October 28, 2025. However, for senior citizens, ailing passengers, children and lady passengers who require assistance, platform tickets will be issued, as per Railway Board guidelines.
