Members of Baltimore’s Jewish community gathered in Pikesville Tuesday night to celebrate the release of the remaining living hostages held by Hamas.

It marks a moment of healing after two years of struggle, members said.

“The community has really struggled for the past two years,” said Jenny Gamliel, one of the attendees. “Obviously, with the taking of the hostages and subsequent pain with everyone involved in the crisis, but also this was a moment where we could take the first steps toward healing a lot of the pain.”

Gamliel expressed a mix of emotions upon hearing the news of the hostage release.

“A lot of relief, a lot of joy, a lot of sadness, a lot of anger, a lot of fear, all the feelings,” Gamliel said.
