Proposition 50 is a power grab to seize control from our independent redistricting commission … exactly the type of political abuse voters mandated to block.

This commission has high approval ratings with Californians. Both parties have hated its authority, which restricts politicians from manipulating communities’ representation. Once they control the state, expect attempts to dismantle/weaken it.

Both Schiff and Porter stumbled on how they would represent Republican voters — Porter saying they had no impact on her winning, the implication they will be brushed aside.
