Former White Rock councillor Scott Kristjanson is throwing his hat into the ring for the mayor's chair in the next municipal election, scheduled for Oct. 17, 2026.

Vowing to "restore, accountability, transparency and balance to City Hall," Kristjanson, who served on council from 2018 to 2022, cited both that experience, plus years of project management as a software engineer, as strengths he can bring to the role of mayor.

Kristjanson, who ran as a councillor in September's byelection, finished third in polling, some 88 votes behind Susan Bains, who was elected to one of two seats on council (the other went to former councillor Anthony Manning).
