As the ongoing education labour dispute continues to impact families across Alberta, parents are being warned to watch out for fraudulent websites imitating the province’s official Parent Payment Program portal.

The Alberta government launched the legitimate online portal yesterday, (October 14) to provide eligible parents and guardians $30 per child under the age of 12, per instructional day, while schools remain closed.

However, the province has cautioned that any website requesting personal or financial information to register for payments is fraudulent and not affiliated with the Government of Alberta.
