Luis Torrens and David Peterson have been named finalists for the 2025 Rawlings Gold Glove Awards, MLB announced Wednesday morning. Three finalists are chosen for the award at each position, with the winners being announced live on ESPN on Sunday, November 2.

Torrens entered the year as the Mets’ projected backup catcher come May, but he ended up playing 92 games — crossing the award’s threshold for eligible playing time — as Francisco Alvarez continued to battle injuries throughout the season. The bulk of Torrens’ defensive value came from his ability to control the running game, with his 43.2% caught stealing rate ranked second in the majors behind Austin Hedges.
